<p>We&#8217;ll leave the super-exciting reading habits part for another day k as what I&#8217;m <em>here </em>to do is to encourage, urge and freakin&#8217; get you to to <strong><em><u>go</u> <u>get</u> <u>this</u> <u>book</u></em></strong> NOW if you can.</p>
<p><em>Why? </em></p>
<p>The author <em>(the ever brilliant Michael Masterson)</em> is one who has DONE everything that he&#8217;s written about here; it&#8217;s in the <strong><em>minute details</em></strong> that I find most valuable, and the fact that the business growth strategies he shares are EXTREMELY <em>relatable</em> to entrepreneurs who are actually going through it right now, the struggles, challenges, etc, etc&#8230; We <em>get</em> it. We <strong><em><u>identify</u></em></strong> with it.</p>
<p>His simplistic views of breaking down business growth stages into 4 categories:</p>
<p>==&gt; 0 - 1 Million</p>
<p>==&gt; 1 Million - 10 Million</p>
<p>==&gt; 10 Million - 50 Million</p>
<p>==&gt; 50 Million - 300 Million</p>
<p>For growth stages&#8230;</p>
<p>==&gt; 0 - 1 Million<br />
<strong><u>Challenge:</u></strong> You don&#8217;t really know what you&#8217;re doing yet, still finding the right footing, the right balance in your business.</p>
<p><strong><u>What to do:</u></strong> Find your OSS (Optimal Selling Strategy). Your main focus is sales, sales, sales and nothing else. Why? Becos sales is the lifeblood of the business and it gives you CASHFLOW to fund your growth and do whatever u want to do as you&#8217;re growing. So to reach 1 Million, all efforts should be on sales.</p>
<p>==&gt; 1 Million - 10 Million</p>
<p>If your sales have reached $1 million, it shows that you, your ideas and your outfit has what it takes to be a marketing genius. You have proven your worth in the marketplace that you have the ability to sell or your product sells. Challenge now is to create <em>multiple products</em> <strong>(profit funnels)</strong> fast. Your sole lead product will have exhausted itself <em>(life cycle and since you&#8217;ve sold 1 million worth, generally it&#8217;s quite exhausive),</em> so you need to come out with multiple products at this stage to grow and reach the 10 million mark.</p>
<p><u><strong>Principle:</strong></u></p>
<p>Front-End goal = <strong><em>acquire new customers</em><br />
</strong>Back-end Goal (with multiple products) = <em><strong>make a profit. </strong></em></p>
<p>bla, bla, bla&#8230; gives one a wonderful, real-world <em>&#8220;closed curtain&#8221;</em> look into the actual going-ons in these businesses and what to expect along the way. </p>
<p>My eyes are barely open as I&#8217;m typing this <em>(no thanks to the obsessively scary &#8221;Ready, Aim Fire&#8221; addiction),</em> in other words, I&#8217;m numb, tired and I <em>soooooooo</em> need to sleep right now.</p>
<p><strong><u>Bottom line:</u></strong> I <strong><em><u>LOVED</u></em></strong> it to bits, and I&#8217;m sure you will too. Truly one of the best business books to have hit our shores in a while now! <img src='http://www.apekmarketing.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>Next comes the reality of &#8220;book-reading&#8221;:</strong> It&#8217;s pretty much <em>&#8220;worthless&#8221;</em> to you <em>UNTIL</em> the day you&#8217;ve started to actively and consistently <strong><em><u>apply</u></em></strong> the stuff that you&#8217;ve learned in it <em>(classic case of the importance of taking solid ACTION),</em> if not, you might as well be better off watching tv and not waste your time reading it in the first place haha..</p>

<p>I learnt something going through watching Eben&#8217;s seminar yesterday, and one of the speakers, forgot-whats-his-name said something really profound&#8230; something which I&#8217;ve grossly overlooked before this&#8230;</p>
<p>Entrepreneurs are always hell-bent on going for profits, profits and more profits.. but when choosing to enter a business venture, always be sure to think things thoroughly and choose one that fits in and creates the <strong><em><u>LIFESTYLE</u></em></strong> that you want&#8230;</p>
<h2><font color="#ff0000">Profits &amp; Lifestyle &lt;&#8211; Two Different Sets Of Things</font></h2>
<p>Again&#8230; <em>I so get that! </em></p>
<p><em><u><strong>Factors to consider</strong></u>: </em>Mobility, fixed monthly overheads, social interaction <em>(never EVER discount this!),</em> flexibility, team management, freedom, scalability, scability and scalability are amongst those you should think about.</p>
<p>Entrepeneurs are always focused on the <em>&#8220;end goal&#8221;,</em> what they don&#8217;t realize is how they should be thinking about making the &#8220;end goal&#8221;&#8230; <em>&#8220;the journey&#8221;&#8230;</em></p>

<h2 class="tophead">1. Forget about yourself, focus on others.</h2>
<p class="col1_equal">Uncertainty can drive people into themselves, making them feel isolated and helpless. The best strategy here is to go in the opposite direction, expanding your connection with others — focusing on helping them transform their negatives into positives. The more you contribute in this fashion, the less you will need to worry about your own situation. You will become a source of confidence for everyone else.</p>
<h2 class="col1_equal">2. Forget about your commodity, focus on your relationships.</h2>
<p class="col1_equal">In uncertain times, people become frightened about the viability of their “commodities” — the things they sell and the jobs they hold. A more strategic response here is to disregard your own commodity and focus on deepening the power and possibility of all your relationships — with family, friends, team members, suppliers, clients, customers, and prospects. Every time you strengthen a relationship, the viability of your commodity will increase.</p>
<blockquote class="pullquote"><p>A strategic response is to take advantage of every resource that is immediately available in order to achieve as many <em>small results</em> and make as much <em>daily progress</em> as possible.</p></blockquote>
<h2 style="padding-top: 0px" class="col1_equal">3. Forget about the sale, focus on creating value.</h2>
<p class="col1_equal">Most people don’t like being sold at the best of times. When the future is less certain, they turn off, hang up, and slam shut. But what people want at all times is value creation — that is, solutions that help them eliminate their dangers, capture their opportunities, and reinforce their strengths. When you focus on providing these three solutions, the sales will naturally follow.</p>
<h2 class="col1_equal">4. Forget about your losses, focus on your opportunities.</h2>
<p class="col1_equal">Things you had and may have taken for granted sometimes disappear. Some people never get over this. They keep trying to replay their old games. A better strategy is to start an entirely new game — using new ideas, new energies, new tools, and new resources. As the world changes, opportunities suddenly become available to achieve far more than you ever did in the past.</p>
<h2 class="col1_equal">5. Forget about your difficulties, focus on your progress.</h2>
<p class="col1_equal">Because of some changes, things may not be as easy as they once were. New difficulties can either defeat you or reveal new strengths. Your body’s muscles always get stronger from working against resistance. The same is true for the “muscles” in your mind, your spirit, and your character. Treat this whole period of challenge as a time when you can make your greatest progress as a human being.</p>
<p class="col2_equal">
<h2 class="tophead">6. Forget about the “future,” focus on today.</h2>
<p>The “future” is an abstraction. It doesn’t exist except as an idea. The only future that has any reality is the one that you continually create for yourself through each day’s contributions, achievements, and results. This is an excellent time to ignore all those experts who never saw the present circumstances coming. Focus on what you can do over the course of each 24 hours, and you’ll be the only expert on the future you’ll ever need.</p>
<h2>7. Forget about who you were, focus on who you can be.</h2>
<p>Many people define themselves by external circumstances. When these abruptly or unexpectedly change, they don’t know who they are, so they keep trying to be who they used to be. From now on, take your cues from the inside — from your dreams, ideals, values, and operating principles. These need never change, regardless of the circumstances. Take advantage of external confusion to become self-directed, self-managed, and self-motivated.</p>
<h2>8. Forget about events, focus on your responses.</h2>
<p>When things are going well, many people think they are actually in control of events. That’s why they feel so defeated and depressed when things turn bad. They think they’ve lost some fundamental ability. The most consistently successful people in the world know they can’t control events — but continually work toward greater control over their creative responses to events. Any period when things are uncertain is an excellent time to focus all of your attention and energies on being creatively responsive to all of the unpredictable events that lie ahead.</p>
<h2>9. Forget about what’s missing, focus on what’s available.</h2>
<p>When things change for the worse, many desirable resources are inevitably missing — including information, knowledge, tools, systems, personnel, and capabilities. <p>As I was doing my usual rounds of researching for content today, I discovered something pretty interesting that sparked something off a while ago..</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll share it with ya&#8230; it goes a little something like this:</p>
<p><strong>Most people are sellfish and say, <em>&#8220;I&#8217;m not going to give more than I get.&#8221; </em>But instead of getting a lot, all they get is old and unhappy. I&#8217;ve found that it&#8217;s much better to give a ton and get back a lot in return, not caring a lot about the fact that I didn&#8217;t get as much as I gave than to give little or none and get back little or none. </p>
<p>Relationships aren&#8217;t like investing. If you want a lot, get used to giving more. But it&#8217;s worth it in the end, because love, attention, humor and fun aren&#8217;t like money. If you give them out, you won&#8217;t have less. You have MORE.</strong></p>

<p>Me personally? I never really thought of it that way before..</p>

I&#8217;ve seen drop dead gorgeous girls in singles bars in the east village. What&#8217;s the story there?</p>
<p>- Jobs I should look out for? Everyone knows - lawyer, investment, banker, doctor. How much do those guys really make? And where do they hang out? Where do the hedge fund guys hang out?</p>
<p>- How you decide marriage vs. just a girlfriend? I am looking for MARRIAGE ONLY.</p>
<p>Please hold your insults - I&#8217;m putting myself out there in an honest way. Most beautiful women are superficial; at least I&#8217;m being up front about it. <p><em>Cutting through all the B.S., what you suggest is a simple trade: you bring your looks to the party and I bring my money. Fine, simple. </em></p>
<p><em>But here&#8217;s the rub: your looks will fade, and my money will likely continue into perpetuity&#8230;in fact, it is very likely that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won&#8217;t be getting any more beautiful! </em></p>

<p>As has been mentioned several times in this blog, time really is of super importance these days, and it has always been a challenge to race against time as we&#8217;re always bogged down with a thousand and one things to get handled, day in day out, so whatever that helps to get the job done but with the least amount of time is <em>ALWAYS</em> most welcome.</p>
<p>WIthin your marketing pieces and in any form of communication pieces you send out to your potential customers <em>(whoever they may be),</em> getting the RIGHT <em>(most converting words, phrases and emo button pushers)</em> can be an extremely time-consuming task, hence the importance for us to start working a little faster within this dept&#8230;</p>
<p>One of the ways we do it is this:</p>
<p>Whatever your chosen niche, look for the top 7-10 similar related sites, run through all of them thoroughly, look at how they phrase their pieces, swipe off the most catchy lines/pitches, etc and paste onto your word doc and start working from there&#8230;</p>
<p>Stop bothering too much on how wierd it is for the moment, just cut out the best stuff, put it all in, and when it&#8217;s done, that&#8217;s when you start refining it.</p>
<p>It works <strong><em>waaaaay</em></strong> faster that way, and most importantly it helps get one part of your job done as quickly as possible and you can get it out to the world faster to start testing for results <em>(don&#8217;t underestimate the power of testing, I used to do the same, but I&#8217;ve quickly learnt never to assume but to try everything before jumping to conclusions). </em></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Something <strong><em>B-I-G</em></strong> happened in the online marketplace this morning and you need to know about it&#8230;</p>
<p>Google has done something they say they&#8217;d never do, and it probably spells the <em>&#8220;end&#8221;</em> <em>(or is it?)</em> for services like Wordtracker <em>(we wouldn&#8217;t want to be in their shoes now, would we? *gulp*).</em></p>
<p>Here&#8217;s the summary&#8230;</p>
<p>If you&#8217;ve ever used Google Adwords you&#8217;ll know they always represented search volume for a keyword by a rating out of 5.</p>
<p>What this means is that instead of just showing you those <em>“green bars” </em>- which only gave you an idea of relative search volume - <strong><em>you now get to see search numbers based on Google’s database.</em></strong></p>
<p>Whatever your reason to search keywords - AdWords PPC, SEO, article marketing, blog marketing - getting real Google search counts for those keywords is a <em><strong><u>definite</u></strong></em> welcome development.</p>
<p>In fact, the only people who probably don’t think this is great news are the people who have developed fee-based keyword search tools <em>(like *ahem* *ahem*). </em>Because now, at long last, we can get up-to-the-minute search volume information from Google itself, and for free. <em>(hooray!!)</em></p>
<p>Many of us often wondered about the purpose of Google’s keyword tool, since it didn’t actually show real numbers. Yes, it was useful for knowing whether a given search term would get a little or a lot of traffic, especially when compared to related search terms., but that was just about it, pretty much useless <em>(sure of course now can say-lah ekeke)</em></p>

<p>This morning they <em>scrapped</em> that, and started showing <strong><u>ACTUAL</u> <u>SEARCH</u> <u>VOLUME</u></strong> for keywords.</p>
<p>Now Wordtracker keyword volumes have always been accused of being wildly inaccurate because they make predictions from only 2-3% of actual search activity.</p>
<p>So now that Google has made a change, more accurate search volume is finally available.</p>
<p>Go try it out here, enter a keyword and you&#8217;ll see Google&#8217;s estimate of actual search volume - and this is great news for us marketers!</p>
