Structuring The Perfect ‘Teaser’ For Your Online Product Launch Campaigns…

Posted in April 2nd, 2008

Geez, I don’t know about you but from the stuff that I’m been hearing from my fellow internet marketers, the current situation online is as such that it’s getting intensely difficult to sell stuff online.

Somemore raining cats and dogs everyday now, just further adds to the gloomi-ness only…

Now I’ve been personally SLAVING my ass off day and night for the past 4 months, coming out with my own brand new ‘revolutionary’ info product launch, dear God I BARELY have time to anything social at all wtf??!!

Bear in mind, being in one of the MOST competitive niches online, the stuff that we roll out has absolutely got to be TOP NOTCH to even capture people’s attention, let alone get them to BUY, it just seems like everyone and their mother is trying to capture their own piece of the big-ass ‘tasty’ pie these days…

Content, content, content…

That’s what I’m practically sleeping, eating and breathing these days…

After that comes launch strategy, launch strategy, launch strategy…

After that:

Direction, direction, direction…

It really can be a bummer sometimes, what makes it worst is when my brain ain’t functioning as it should be, that’s the one thing that IRRITATES me the most!

Have you ever felt like the answers to whatever ‘problems’ you had were just staring smack right at your face and yet you still can’t seem to figure it out no matter how hard you’ve tried?

Yea, I’m feeling the exact same way right now.

Mother fu^ks.

Aaaarrrrgh.

Tension.

Sorry-lah I also human-mah, got my “off” days as well k.

Obviously with product launches becoming more and more ‘complexed’ and ‘advanced’ these days, one has to further innovate, refine and freakin’ TOP those, and come up with the “motherload”, using, cloaking and disguising concepts NO ONE else has seen before…

It’s tough, and mind-boggling-ly TIRING to do it sometimes man, really at times I’d choose being “physically tired” over “emotionally drained” any day.

Anyway, lately, I’ve been taking more of a practical approach; “ripping off” offline marketing launches done by Hollywood Blockbuster Movies; the advertising execs from these billion-dollar media companies are surely worth every penny of their MASSIVE fat-ass paychecks, it’s way easier to just ‘swipe’ off their ideas and apply them to your very own marketing campaigns online.

A perfect example would be the upcoming “Batman: The Dark Knight Trailer”:

(Oooooooooo I sooo can’t wait to watch it!)

They’ve clearly ‘teased’ the audience with the best excerpts from the movie; very in tune with Eban’s “moving the free line” concepts…

The studio execs at Warner Brothers have cleverly used YouTube.com as one of their partner-launch campaigns which helps them viralize their videos to the young 18-35 crowd that lives and breathes the Internet (note over 5M+ viewers on the video to date).

The way they’ve carefully took the time to structure their ‘one-liners’ within the trailer, the word placements (hint: copywriting 101), etc all in all there’s just SOO MUCH to learn from that brief few seconds of a trailer they’ve put out:

Seriously, if you’re into launches yourself, do take the time, open your eyes, see and observe the offline advertising campaigns that are going on around you EVERY SINGLE DAY, there’s really a bunch of ideas you can pluck from there as well…

Aiya, break time over already-ah, so fast one??!!

Looks like I’m back to slogging it off with content again…

** sigh **

Dear God, show me the way man… Amen.

On a seperate note, if you’re looking to further ‘enhance’ your linguistic capabilities, you should watch this video. It’s the perfect example of someone who CLEARLY has A LOT of free-time in his hands hahaha:
