“What If…”

Posted in March 20th, 2008

Sometimes I feel that this journey we’re taking, there’s really sooo much more to it than meets the eye. One of the things that scares the bejesus, yet excites the hell outta me is the fact that the smallest decisions we make right now, whether we like it or not, can essentially “make or break” the direction of the entire biz and everything that follows suit.

“What if it’s the wrong decision?”

The opportunity costs of focusing on one instead of the other?

Which one will make more?

The investments you’re throwing into an entire project, what if it doesn’t work out?

The emotional drain you go through when shit happens (as they always do when you LEAST expect it) <– This one’s a KILLER.

What about the lost TIME when an entire project fails? (yet another killer)

“What if…”

All the freakin’ “what ifs”… Drives me bonker crazy sometimes, soo many things to think about all at once, soo little time…

With only 24 hours a day (minus-ing hours for sleep), with other aspects of life to deal with: friends, romance, family, finances, social responsibilities…

“How to BALANCE out our life like that?”

Damn hell A LOT of things to think-leh…

People always think of those doing business, it’s all bed of roses… but they never really take the time to sit down and consider the amount of CRAP we have to deal with EVERY SINGLE DAY… It really isn’t as easy as just ’shutting it off’ when ‘work hour’ is over…

Tension-lah mother fu^ks.

Still, it’s NO EXCUSE.

My mentor once told me “Whatever decisions you make in life, wrong or right, be STRONG enough to take full responsibility NO MATTER WHAT happens”…

I now see his point… :-)

Next, he’ll say “Eh, think so much for what? Decide already then DO-lah, if like that also scared, then don’t itchy backside do business-lah, better become woman…”

Alamak, cha-tou.

Oklo… do ma do lo…

He also shared one of his many funny lil’ theories with me:

During our teens and in our 20s = Still blue & green, struggling to find our footing in the world, we are always looking to fit in, worrying about what OTHERS will think of us, looking for THEIR ‘approval’

Age 30 onwards = At the peak stage of our lives, we (guys esp) will do whatever it takes; do or die to ‘challenge’ and ‘out-do’ one another in everything: who has the hottest chicks, more money, coolest toys, biggest house, etc

Age 40 onwards = No more energy to do much already, whatever we want to do also tried already, failed or succeeded already and won’t give a fu^k what others think and do whatever that makes US happy.

Age 50 onwards = Retire, game over, more or less…

So, moral of the story…

“Life is short, live it by DESIGN, not default.”

Fascinating.

Eh enough bout that, time for some ‘comedy court’ hehe… I can’t get enough of this-lah, STUPIDEST video EVER:

In the words of ma fellow brotha; Ali G…

Respect ;-)

Watch this also if you haven’t already, it’s one of Ali’s best ekeke…

PS - Postings will still be intermittent (means irregular-lah), no choice, not much time these days…
